Our price for ESF Four Way Blend of Kentucky bluegrass sod picked up at our Commerce City, CO, farm is currently 26 cents per square foot. If you have problems estimating the size of your project area, call us or fill out the estimate form and include your address. We’ll use Google Earth to get a birds-eye view of your lot. With that information, we can usually talk you through the process of measuring your project area.
Sod may seem expensive until you consider your costs in growing the same quality turf from seed at your home. You’d need to factor in the cost of labor, the costs of herbicide and fertilizer applications, the expense and time for precise watering and mowing, and the cost of seed. When you consider how much time, hard work, expense, and luck you would need to grow a great-looking new lawn, youʼll agree that Emerald Sod Farms turfgrass sod is a bargain. Plus youʼll have a better lawn at the end of the project because our dense turf is certified weed and disease free, and it’s grown in sandy loam soil. When installed properly, Emerald Sod Farms turfgrass will be a credit to your home for years to come.
To determine the cost of turfgrass sod for your project, you have to determine the number of square feet of sod needed. To estimate as accurately as possible, you should first divide the project area into squares and rectangles. Multiply the length times the width for each of those areas, then add the areas of squares and rectangles together for the total amount of sod needed for your project. You can use the handy sod calculator below to calculate the areas of three squares or rectangles. If your project area is best estimated with more than three, you can use the calculator to provide an answer for three at a time and then add those totals together.
